HAND TIGHTEN THE 5/16 STAINLESS STEAL COMPONENTS FOR NOW. FINAL TIGHTENING AND WEATHERPROOFING OCCUR IN ANOTHER VIDEO CLOSER TO THE LAST STEPS.

Time to temporarily ANCHOR the Dogbone Insulator to a sturdy point to allow for the needed counterpressure to tension and measure the wires.

Continue to carefully unspool the 3 coils of wire be sure not to kink the wires. (No Audio) .
VIDEO 7 AND 8 SHOW Now to establish the wire separation. Measure 40 inches down the center wire from the closest end of the Dogbone Insulator (not the far anchor side). Mark the center wire at 40” with a marker or black tape. This is where your first spreader rod will be lashed to the center wire in the middle of the rod. Keep tension on the wire as you lash the wire on TOP of the spreader rod using the 17 AWG Aluminum tie wires that have been inserted through the rod. Once the center wire has been lashed it’s time to lash the two outer wires onto the rod.
Measure 46 inches down on both of the outer wires from the closest end of the Dogbone Insulator (not the far anchor side). Mark the outer wires at 46” with a marker or black tape. This is where your first spreader rod will be lashed to the outer wires on both ends of the first rod. The wire is lashed to the rod on the TOP Side.
Great idea to wear gloves and eye protection on this antenna project.
VIDEO 9 AND 10 (No Audio)
Once you have the first 4 foot spreader rod installed and you have created a prefect equilateral triangle is time to tighten the 5/16" Stainless Steel bolt assembly and weatherproof the connection.
You may have a preferred way to weatherproof and can substitute that procedure here. Like adding an anti-seize compound.
VIDEO 11, 12, AND 13
STEP SIX LASHING THE SPEADERS TO THE WIRE EVERY 15 FEET
It is easier to place the spreaders every 15 feet if the entire antenna project is on the ground. If you have a helper, and a helper is highly recommended, have them hold the first spreader rod down that was just installed to make the equilateral triangle. If a helper is not available, try placing the rod on the ground with tent pegs or spikes in front of the rod to keep it from moving so you get accurate measurements. Measure 15 feet from the first rod down the center wire and mark the center wire at 15 feet with a marker or black tape. This is where your second spreader rod will be lashed to the center wire in the middle of the rod. The wire is lashed to the rod on the TOP Side. Keep tension on the wire as you lash the wire on top of the spreader rod using the 17 AWG Aluminum tie wires that have been inserted through the rod. Once the center wire has been lashed it’s time to lash the two outer wires onto the rod. Measure 15 feet from the first rod down both outer wires and mark the outer wires at 15 feet with a marker or black tape. Make sure that the spreader rod is at a Right Angle to the wires. Once you have correctly located the placement of the rod lash it to the wire. The rods will be perpendicular to the wire when correctly installed.
Repeat step six on this half of your antenna until all the spreaders are in place every 15 feet. Important: the last spreader on this half of the antenna before the center may be less than 15 feet. SEE THE AS BUILT IN FIGURE 3. The number of spreaders will depend on what size T3FD was purchased.
